Level 3 sex offender registers in Thurston County

The Thurston County Sheriff's Office has issued a public notification on Level 3 Sex Offender, Timothy G. Smetzler.

Smetzler, 56, pled guilty in Snohomish County Superior Court to three counts of Indecent Liberties, and was sentenced to 46 months for each count to run concurrently. The conviction stems from Smetzler, at age 31, sexually assaulting a known male, age 13.

In July, 1984, Smetzler pled guilty in Thurston County Superior Court to one count of Indecent Liberties. He was sentenced to a maximum of 10 years. That conviction stems from Smetzler, at age 30, sexually assaulting a known 12-year-old male.

Also in 1984, Smetzler pled guilty in Lewis County Superior Court to two counts of Indecent Liberties, and was senttenced to no more than 10 years confinement for the two counts to run concurrent with the Thurston County case. The conviction stems from Smetzler, at age 30, sexually assaulting a known 10-year-old female and her two brothers, ages 7 and 12.

Smetzler has registered with the Thurston County Sheriff's Office, indicating he will be living in the 8100 block of James Road S.W.

He is described as a white male, 5 foot 11 inches, 210 pounds, with brown/gray hair and brown eyes.
