The Oder river between Germany and Poland is the end of the world for some, the gateway to a new life to others. For refugees from the Ukraine, it's not unlike what New York was to immigrants a century ago: their dreamed-of point of entry to The Golden West. Here, all kinds of people, come in search of happiness, often finding more barriers of their own making.
