BELLINGHAM - Bellingham police announced Monday, Oct. 4, that despite the massive efforts made in locating a missing Western Washington University student, no new leads have developed.
Dwight A. Clark, 18, vanished after leaving an off-campus party at about 2 a.m. Sept. 26.
Police Chief Todd Ramsay said in a news release that the case has prompted hundreds of volunteers to donate their time to search for Clark, as well as offer money to a reward fund set up to help locate Clark.
That fund now has more than $20,000 in pledges, according to WWU.
Ramsay said the department has received hundreds of tips and ideas, which detectives are continuing to review.
Detectives are continuing their investigation, but Ramsay said the department is not coordinating more search efforts at this time. As the investigation continues, the need for more volunteers may develop and will be evaluated then, Ramsay said.
