An 18-year-old former high school football star from Kent was shot and killed outside a home.
Devin Topps and his friends at about 2 a.m. Sunday were leaving a Halloween party in Kent. KING-TV reports they were confronted by a group of men who were arriving.
At least one of the suspects pulled out a gun and shots were fired. Police say Topps was hit and collapsed near his truck. He was not armed.
Topps graduated from Kentridge High a year ago. He had signed a letter of intent to play football at Eastern Washington University.

Police are looking for three or four males, of Asian or Hispanic descent, in their late teens to early twenties, as persons of interest.
Sgt. Pat Lowery says there's nothing to indicate the shooting was gang-related or that there had been substance abuse at the party.
