A 37-year-old Burien woman has pleaded not guilty to charges of malicious harassment in connection with an incident last month at a Tukwila gas station.
The Seattle Times reports Jennifer Leigh Jennings pleaded not guilty Tuesday morning to two counts of malicious harassment for allegedly attacking two Muslim women on Oct. 16. Malicious harassment is the state's hate crime statute.
Court documents say Jennings yelled at the women, calling them suicide bombers and telling them to go back to their home country. The documents say Jennings kicked and slammed a car door on the legs of one woman and threatened the other.
The Times reports that both of the women who were harassed are U.S. citizens.
