A Lakewood police traffic officer is under investigation after he showed his police badge during an alcohol-related incident last month at Oktoberfest in Leaven-worth.
The incident occurred Oct. 9 during the annual event in the Central Washington city, police Lt. Chris Lawler said Tuesday.
Chelan County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene and notified Lakewood police about the 42-year-old officer’s involvement in what was described as an alcohol-related incident. No other details about what happened were released.
The officer, who was off duty, was not arrested, Lawler said. He’s not been charged.
Police Chief Bret Farrar placed the officer on paid administrative leave Oct. 26 after receiving reports about the incident from Chelan County.
An internal investigation was launched and was expected to be finished this week, Lawler said.
The officer has been with Lakewood police for more than six years.
