A man reportedly showed up at Centralia Providence Hospital Tuesday morning with a stab wound to his abdomen.
“This guy shows up yesterday morning and we don’t even know how he got there,” Centralia Sgt. Carl Buster said. “He takes one look at us and he says, ‘Hey, I’m not talking.’”
Buster, who said hospital staff called police when the man arrived about 8 a.m., said the man’s wound was a puncture through his abdominal wall but he was not in danger of losing his life, despite being transported to Harborview Medical Center for further treatment. Although the man wouldn’t tell police how he was stabbed, which Buster said is highly unusual of stabbing victims, Centralia police recognized the man in his 20s from previous minor criminal infractions.
“We’ve dealt with him before, but never anything like that,” Buster said. “We don’t even know if it happened in our city.”
