A string of burglaries at some 20 Snohomish County businesses shows a similar pattern. Police say the burglars typically target strip malls and enter the back of a less secure or vacant business. Then they rip through the drywall to reach larger stores.
Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz says there have been five similar burglaries in his city in the past two weeks. The Daily Herald of Everett says another 15 similar break-ins have been reported recently in other parts of Snohomish County, from Stanwood to Monroe and including Arlington, Marysville and Mukilteo.
All the recent burglaries have occurred either at night or on weekends when the businesses are closed.
