A woman helping stack heavy clothing bales at a Seattle warehouse died Tuesday after one of the bales fell on her.
Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman Lt. Sue Stangl says the unidentified woman in her late 50s or early 60s was part of a crew working at Buffalo Exports. The victim was knocked to the ground by a bale estimated to weigh 700 to 1,000 pounds.
The woman was taken to Harborview Medical Center and the hospital says she later died.
The Seattle Times reports the state Department of Labor and Industries is investigating.
