Mason County Sheriff's Office responded to a report Tuesday that two horses had been shot while in their pasture near the 2000 block of Little Egypt Road W., just west of Shelton. There were also claims that the two horses actually died of animal neglect and malnutrition.
An investigation revealed that both of the dead horses appeared to have been in good condition prior to their death, and there were no signs of neglect or malnutrition. Two live horses were also found on the property and both appeared to be well fed and cared for.
An investigation continues into the death of the two horses. Anyone with information regarding the shooting of the two horses are urged to call the Mason County Sheriff’s Office at 360-427-9670, ext. 226.
