KENNEWICK - Kennewick police received a call at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday of a possible theft in progress.
A caller reported seeing an unfamiliar pickup parked in front of a neighbor's home and a man climbing around inside another neighbor's truck.
When officers arrived, suspect David I. Wacenske, 33, of Pasco, fled, and they were unable to find him.
A short time later, a caller said he had just caught a man in the back of his pickup parked in the 5400 block of West 15th Avenue. A police dog found Wacenske hiding in bushes at 15th Avenue and Harrison Street.

He was taken into custody on two counts of vehicle prowl, resisting arrest and an outstanding felony warrant. Officers located and impounded his pickup, which contained a large amount of property.
Kennewick police recently have received 10 reports of items stolen from vehicles, including stereo equipment, tools, a debit card and a bean bag toss game. In several cases, a vehicle window had been broken out.
Police are asking Kennewick residents to check their vehicles and call police if any items are missing.
