A 31-year-old Seattle man has pleaded guilty to aggravated murder in the shooting deaths of his girlfriend and baby daughter.
KOMO News reports that Daniel T. Hicks said in court Tuesday he understands he'll spend the rest of his life in prison without the chance of parole. King County prosecutors decided not to seek the death penalty because of his mental illness.
Twenty-eight-year-old Jennifer Morgan and 13-week-old Emma were killed three days before Christmas 2009. Hicks was captured a week later in Santa Cruz, Calif.
Court papers says Hicks accused Morgan of trying to trap him with the pregnancy. He had urged her to get an abortion.
He'll be sentenced on February 18.
