Kent, Wash., police say a 53-year-old off-duty officer was fatally injured in a car crash as he drove home early Thursday morning in nearby Auburn.
Lt. Pat Lowery says Officer Robin McCuistion's car left a roadway, traveled down a steep embankment and hit a tree. Auburn police are investigating but Lowery says it's thought that adverse weather may have played a role. Many area streets were snowy and icy.
McCuistion was a 13-year veteran of the Kent department.
