A Pasco man is behind bars on allegations he sexually abused a young girl for several years.
Juan Francisco Guerrero-Macias, 46, faces trial April 27 for first-degree rape of a child. He pleaded innocent.
According to court documents, police were sent to the Lourdes Medical Center emergency room Feb. 16 for a child sex investigation. Relatives of the victim told officers the girl had told them that Guerrero-Macias had repeatedly raped her, and doctors confirmed she had injuries consistent with those claims, documents said.
In a followup interview at Kids Haven, the girl reportedly gave specific details "that most children her age wouldn't know about" and "appeared sincere and truthful in her statements," Detective Kirk Nebeker wrote in court documents.
Police also are investigating whether Guerrero-Macias sexually assaulted another young girl, based on the claims of the first victim.
After his arrest Feb. 22, Guerrero-Macias refused to answer any questions and immediately asked for his attorney. He then was booked into the Franklin County jail, where his bail is $25,000 along with an Immigration and Customs Enforcement hold.
