Clark County health officials say they're investigating a second case of measles. In this case, county health officer Dr. Alan Melnick says a school-age child was exposed two weeks ago at a medical facility visited by the first sick child, a 7-month-old who returned with his family from a trip to India.
Officials say the baby was taken on Feb. 14 to two Vancouver facilities - the Evergreen Pediatric Clinic and the pharmacy or outpatient lab at the Southwest Washington Medical Center.
Melnick tells The Oregonian the school-age child was unvaccinated when he was exposed. The doctor says the county is working with a local school and a medical facility to notify potentially exposed people. He declined to identify either.
Vaccinations have practically eliminated measles in the United States.
