Kent, Wash., police have an arrest warrant for a man accused of bilking two other men out of more than $2.4 million over the past six years.
According to charging papers filed in King County Superior Court, Ron Stevens used the name Tim Ephram. He is accused of enticing the victims with promises of a huge payoff when he cashed in his father's $500 million estate. Prosecutors say that estate didn't exist.
Ephram was charged Friday with four counts of first-degree theft. The Seattle Times says the man disappeared after a victim who says he invested $2.3 million over the years began pressing for more information.
The Times says the second victim was a friend of the first man and was persuaded to turn over $171,000 after Ephram promised a triple return on the investment.
