OLYMPIA - An arsonist is on the run after attempting to set fire to an Olympia police station Wednesday morning.
Flames scorched a wall outside the back door of the west-side police substation at 200 Perry Street Northwest around 3:30 a.m.
No one was hurt.
KIRO 7 spoke to an Olympia police dispatcher who said the fire burned a three-and-a-half by four foot area.
This is the second time this facility has been hit by vandalism in less than two weeks.
On March 5, someone broke a large window at the station and damaged two parked patrol cars. One of the cars had all of its windows smashed, the second had three busted out.
Anyone with information about the vandalism is asked to call the police at 360-753-8300 or Thurston County Crime Stoppers at 360-493-2222.
