SUDDEN VALLEY - Several pounds of marijuana and more than $10,000 were confiscated in a bust at a Sudden Valley home Wednesday, March 16, according to the Whatcom County Sheriff's Office.
Undercover agents from the Northwest Regional Drug Task Force allegedly bought 4 pounds of marijuana, worth about $8,100, from someone at a house on Alder Court in Sudden Valley.
Officers arrested Todd Newlun, 42, of Selma, Ore., on suspicion of two counts of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver. Agents recovered the money used to buy the drugs and found an additional $11,250 along with more marijuana.
While officers were waiting for a search warrant prior to arresting Newlun and searching his home, they saw a car occupied by Eric Shaheed Pitts, 29, of Bellingham, and found an additional 4.2 pounds of marijuana. Pitts was booked into Whatcom County Jail on suspicion of delivery of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana with intent to deliver.
