PORT ORCHARD - A Bremerton man was charged Monday in Kitsap County District Court with two felonies after police found illicit text messages on his cellphone and photographs of underage girls on his home computer and cellphone.
Michael Dean McCord, 22, was charged with one count of communicating with a minor for immoral purposes and one count of sexual exploitation of a minor, according to District Court charging documents.
Bremerton Police were tipped off about McCord after a 19-year-old came reported a separate incident involving McCord. She told police she believed McCord had sexually explicit photographs and video of her on his computer from when she was 13 years old.
Police were granted a search warrant and went to McCord’s house along Olympic Drive on March 4. During a search they found numerous images on his cellphone and home computer that appeared to include young girls engaged in sexually explicit conduct. They also identified sexually explicit text messages sent between McCord and a 17-year-old girl, according to court documents.
The girl later told police she met McCord two years earlier and had sex with him at 15 years old, according to court documents.
McCord remains in Kitsap County jail on $250,000 bail. His next court date is in April.
