An Irrigon man was arrested Thursday on 60 counts of first-degree sexual abuse.
A woman called the Morrow County Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday, alleging that 69-year-old Lonnie Lepper had inappropriately touched her two daughters, Sheriff Kenneth Matlack said in a written statement.
The girls are pre-teens and acquaintances of Lepper.
A deputy went to the girls’ home Wednesday to investigate. On Thursday morning, Lepper called the Sheriff’s Office and “made statements concerning the allegations,” Matlack said.
The Sheriff’s Office declined to explain further what Lepper said, as the investigation is ongoing.
During the phone call, Lepper agreed to come to the Irrigon Justice Center for an interview.
After the interview, Lepper was arrested and brought to the Umatilla County Jail. Bail is set at $3 million.
