WOODINVILLE, Washington - A 28-year-old Woodinville man was arrested Tuesday after he snuck into a house a raped a 13-year-old girl while her parents slept in the next room, the King County Sheriff's Office said.
The attack happened at about 3:30 a.m., police said. The girl woke up and saw the suspect coming into her room. He held a knife to her throat and raped her, and then ran off when the girl's father heard a noise and came into the room.
Police said they weren't able to find the man in an initial search of the area with a police dog. The man was found at about 9:25 a.m. after someone called 911 to report a suspicious man nearby. He was arrested in a wooded area near Bassett Pond Park in the 18000 block of Northeast 165th Street.
Police said the man had worked for the girl's father in the past and is well known to the family.
The man was booked into the King County Jail on charges of rape and burglary.
