On Monday, Saint Martin’s University began using a new address.
The private university’s north entrance off College Street, which is adjacent to the Lacey Timberland Regional Library and part of Sixth Avenue, has become Abbey Way. Since that’s now considered the main entrance for the university and Abbey Church, Saint Martin’s changed its address to 5000 Abbey Way S.E., Lacey.
“The new street name reflects the Benedictine heritage of Saint Martin’s,” said Andrew Moyer, director of real estate and associate treasurer for Saint Martin’s Abbey.
University officials say the address change is part of a larger campus improvement project that was launched in the spring and includes resurfaced roads, more parking, a pedestrian path, sidewalks, lighting, landscaping and other improvements.
