A fifth 787 Dreamliner has joined The Boeing Co.'s test fleet.
The plane took off for the first time Wednesday from Everett’s Paine Field, where it was built. It was in the air for nearly four hours. It also made a brief stop at Boeing’s test facility in Moses Lake.
Boeing officials hope to have the new 787 pass federal certification tests by the fall. The first new plane is to be delivered to Japanese customer All Nippon Airways late this year.
