The Boeing Co. should update its 777 before it takes on designing a new 737, a Wall Street analyst says in a report to investors.
Joseph Nadol of J.P. Morgan says Boeing needs to improve its 777 because Airbus is stealing customers from the 777 with its new A350XWB. The A350XWB is positioned to compete with the smaller 777-200s in size.
Order activity for the 777 has slowed noticeably since Airbus began marketing its A350XWB. The new plane is to debut in 2013.
