Resort occupancy rates at those Great Wolf lodges with 400 or more rooms, including its Grand Mound location, were 69.2 percent in the third quarter, the company's earnings release shows.
The 69.2 percent rate was nearly unchanged from the 70.9 percent occupancy rate the company reported in the third quarter a year ago. In the same year-over-year period, the average daily rate for its 400-room resorts rose to $274.96 from $268.75.
Great Wolf Resorts of Madison, Wisc., narrowed its loss in the third quarter to $1 million, down from $36.9 million in the third quarter of 2009. The lower net loss largely was attributed to higher year-over-year third-quarter revenues, which grew to $81.1 million from $76.8 million.
