A vehicle fire Tuesday night at Burger King at College Street and Yelm Highway in Lacey caused $70,000 in damage, with flames spreading to the overhang of the building, according to the Lacey Fire Department.
Crews responded to the fire about 11:55 p.m. and found a 2002 Chevy Tahoe near the drive-through window on fire with flames spreading toward the building, battalion chief Steve Crimmins said.
The fire was extinguished before it could reach the building but damaged the overhang.
The driver was the only person in the Tahoe and escaped without injury. Employees also escaped the building without injury.

The cause of the fire couldn’t be determined because the Tahoe was damaged too extensively, Crimmins said.
