An Auburn couple who once owned a recreational vehicle dealership in Kent pleaded guilty Thursday to stealing sales taxes.
King County Superior Court Judge Michael Hayden gave Daniel Watts, 54, and Donna Watts, 52, a 12-month suspended sentence as long as they commit no other crimes for two years.
The couple, who owned Watts Enterprises Inc. until it shut down in 2009, has already paid the state $186,249 in restitution.
The state Department of Revenue requested the investigation after learning the Watts’ failed to remit sales tax they collected from customers during the last three months they were in business.
The Financial Crimes Unit of the state Attorney General’s Office conducted the investigation.
