Seattle-based Russell Investments says financial advisors are more optimistic about the capital markets than their clients.
According to Russell’s quarterly Financial Professional Outlook, only 7 percent of advisers believe their clients are optimistic about capital markets over the next three years, whereas 59 percent of advisers are optimistic.
Among the findings in the report:
78 percent of advisors said clients see slow economic growth as an impediment to reaching financial goals.
60 percent of advisors said what mostly concerns them is that clients underfund retirement accounts.
Advisers said 34 percent of their clients who are retired or near retirement have changed plans in order to maintain or achieve their retirement goals since the financial crisis.
