A resale shop for children's clothing and toys has closed its doors.
Once Upon a Child, a nationally franchised store, had its going-out-of-business sale last weekend and closed permanently on Saturday, said an employee who did not want to be identified Monday because she is not authorized to speak for the owner.
The store’s website said the store – located near the Tacoma Mall – was closing because of “economic challenges.”
It’s unclear how many employees will be affected. The owner of the store, who lives out of state, did not respond to an e-mail request for comment.
Never miss a local story.
Once Upon a Child also has franchises in Spokane and Vancouver. Other Tacoma children’s resale boutiques include Blooming Kids on North 27th Street and Kids Kaboodle on Sixth Avenue.
