Both passenger traffic and cargo volumes were higher last month at Sea-Tac Airport as the effects of the recession show signs of fading away, at least by some measures.
The airport reports that passenger traffic through its gates was up by 90,233 passengers in January compared with the same month in 2010. That’s a 4.13 percent increase.
On the cargo side, volume jumped by 527 metric tons, a 3.15 percent increase.
The number of landings and takeoffs increased at a lesser rate – 1.66 percent, to 24,501 in January this year. That’s 401 more flights than in January 2010.
