Apartment rents in Thurston County increased $24 in the second quarter, according to new survey data released by Apartment Insights of Seattle.
And that increase has pushed average rents in the county to $917, the data show.
Rents in Thurston County have grown 3.5 percent in the past year.
The cost of a single-family residence might be affecting rents because vacancy levels remain low in the county at 4.31 percent, the data show. A year ago the vacancy rate in the county was 4.19 percent.
The median price of a single-family residence in June was just under $250,000, according to Northwest Multiple Listing Service data.
Tumwater had the lowest vacancy rate in the county at just under 4 percent, the data show.
Apartment Insights surveys apartments of 50 or more units in a five-county area, including Thurston.
