Washington’s secretary of state is seeking nominations for the 2015 Corporations for Communities Award, which honors businesses that make gifts to improve conditions in its local area.
Secretary of State Kim Wyman said the CFC program, which began in 2009, is a great way to salute deserving businesses that help their communities.
“We are lucky to have many Washington companies that are committed to giving back locally in various ways,” Wyman said in a news release.
Wyman will choose at least one large and one small corporation from among the nominees. Winners will receive a National Association of Secretaries of State Medallion, the highest civics honor that the state awards, at a ceremony in October.
Anyone can make a nomination. Nominees must be registered with the Office of Secretary of State and must be in compliance with state and federal laws.
Nomination forms can be found on the Secretary of State’s website.
