Crews in Olympia will be all over town beginning at 6 a.m. Saturday and Sunday to stripe roadways. They will be painting new edge lines, center lines and bike lanes on main arterial roads.
The paint truck will be followed by trail vehicles with signs warning drivers not to pass. Stay behind them to ensure the paint has enough time to dry and doesn’t end up on your car. Even if you don’t see the vehicles or signs, avoid driving over lines that appear fresh since they may still be wet.
Better yet, check the city’s live map (olympiawa.gov/striping) that shows the paint truck’s location and where it has been for the last 20 minutes to plan your route accordingly.
If you do get paint on your vehicle, rinse it off immediately. The paint is water-based and should wash off if done right away.
Never miss a local story.
