A crew was dispatched to the Nisqually River, near the Riverbend Campground, on Monday afternoon after a raft deflated, leaving two people stranded on a log.
The small inflatable raft was originally carrying four passengers, and deflated after tangling up in a log jam, Lacey Fire Battalion Chief Steve Crimmins said.
The crew was dispatched to the area at 3:30 p.m., and found that two adult passengers had made it to shore, and two juveniles remained on the log.
“We had swift-water personnel on duty, launched a boat, went over and retrieved them and brought them back to the Thurston County side of the river,” Crimmins said.
All parties were returned to shore by 4:07 p.m., he said. No one was injured.
