Lady Washington, the state’s official tall ship, and her sister ship the Hawaiian Chieftain will sail to Olympia later this month for the annual Harbor Days festival and tugboat races.
The pair will be in town Aug. 30 to Sept. 4 for tours and sails. The 44th annual Harbor Days festival runs Sept. 1 to 3 along the waterfront.
The 112-foot Lady Washington is a replica of an 18th-century brig; Hawaiian Chieftain is a replica ketch. The Lady Washington gained cinematic fame when it appeared as the pirate ship “The Interceptor” in the popular film “Pirates of the Caribbean:The Curse of the Black Pearl.”
The ships also have scheduled stops in Seattle, Edmonds, Port Ludlow, Kirkland, Aberdeen and Ilwaco now through late September. Lady Washington was cleared to sail last month after it ran aground in Sequim Bay.
