Traffic on 113th Avenue Southwest south of Tumwater had to be diverted Tuesday morning as fire crews worked to contain a structure fire.
Crews responded to the fire on the 1300 block of 113th Avenue Southwest near Scott Lake at about 10:15 a.m. The fire was contained to a three-bay garage; vehicles and equipment inside also were damaged.
The road was closed in both directions and heavy smoke could be seen in the area.
West Thurston Fire Authority Chief Robert Scott said the cause of the fire is under investigation. Crews from South Thurston, East Olympia, McLane Black Lake, Tumwater and Lacey also responded.

The building’s owner sustained minor smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene.
