Interfaith Works has organized a “moment of blessing” for noon Thursday for Christina and David Belcher, the Lacey area couple who died in a homicide-suicide.
The service will take place at 3030 Bella Court SE, near Lacey.
Moments of blessing is a faith-based response to cases of homicide, according to the organization’s news release. The goal is to reclaim the place of violence as a place of life and peace, and to bring support to the victim’s family, friends and neighboring community.
Faith leaders and lay persons are expected to attend. The ceremony will include readings and non-denominational prayers, and those who attend are welcome to speak. Clergy are encouraged to wear robes, stoles or other religious attire.
