A 14-year-old girl who was reported missing from Olympia Tuesday has been found safe.
Local law enforcement searched for Autumn Elena Trujillo after she left Olympia High School on Tuesday afternoon but did not arrive home. The teen is on the autism spectrum and would not have been able to make it home on her own, according to the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office.
An endangered missing person alert was sent out statewide and widely shared on social media.
Law enforcement reported she had been found just after 9 p.m. A woman who saw a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office on the missing teen spotted her 2 miles from the high school and called 911.
The teen had tried to walk home from school and got lost.
