The start of a new school year means a new class of fourth-graders and their families are eligible for Every Kid in a Park passes, which give them free access to federal parks, forests and recreation areas for a year.
Fourth-graders can get vouchers by visiting the Every Kid in a Park website. Paper vouchers can be traded in for plastic passes at any Forest Service office. In Olympia, the office is at 1835 Black Lake Blvd. SW.
Every Kid in a Park is a national program to encourage children and their families to explore the outdoors, including national parks. This year’s vouchers and passes are valid through August 2018.
