A timber worker who fell down a 20-foot sinkhole in Grays Harbor County this week spent the night there before crews rescued him Tuesday.
KOMO reports the incident happened in a logging area near the town of Brady. On Monday, the man was surveying areas prone to sinkholes alone when one opened up and he fell in.
A co-worker arrived Tuesday morning and called for help after finding the man’s truck still running.
According to Olympia Fire Department, the man spent the night in a cavern created by an underground stream before crews including the Thurston County Special Operations Rescue Team were able to get him out.
Q13 reports the man was cold but in good health.
