Lacey Police are asking the public to help find a man suspected of passing counterfeit $100 bills.
On Friday, police released a poster featuring photos of the suspect taken with surveillance cameras.
Besides passing fake bills, the man also allegedly stole merchandise from two stores, including a BB pistol that looks like a Glock 22, according to the poster.
The suspect was last seen in a silver Mitsubishi Galant, with the license plate number BBS4120, said Lacey Police Det. Miguel Stansberry.
The cases are a reminder that retailers should be skeptical about large bills, he said.
“Just make sure to use your counterfeit pen,” he told The Olympian. “There’s nothing wrong with checking that bill to make sure it’s a legit bill.”
Anyone with information on the suspect’s whereabouts is asked to call Lacey Police at 360-459-4333 or Crime Stoppers of the South Sound at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477).
