Loading up your vehicle this weekend? Washington State Patrol wants you to take an extra minute to secure your load before you go.
Troopers will be on the lookout Friday through Sunday for vehicles with unsecured loads. Drivers could face citations from $228 up to criminal charges if they cause property damage or injuries.
Last year, State Patrol stopped 6,268 vehicles for failing to secure their load, and unsecured loads caused 170 crashes last year on state highways.
