The Nisqually tribe and Nisqually River Council will sponsor a Nisqually Salmon Stewards training in a series of weekly classes, beginning June 3 and continuing through late July.
Participants learn about Nisqually River salmon and their habitat needs, cultural history of the tribe, water quality and stream health and other topics.
In return, trained participants pledge 40 hours of volunteer service on watershed education and restoration projects.
For more information and to register for training, contact Don Perry, Nisqually Stream Stewards coordinator, at 360-438-8687, Ext. 2143, or email@example.com.
