Two ceremonies Thursday at Fort Lewis will honor four soldiers killed in two incidents in Iraq and Afghanistan.
A memorial ceremony for 1st Lt. David T. Wright and Sgt. Andrew H. McConnell will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday at the North Fort Chapel. Wright, 26, of Moore, Okla., and McConnell, 24, of Carlisle, Pa., died Sept. 14 when enemy forces attacked their vehicle with a bomb in southern Afghanistan. The soldiers were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Infantry Regiment, 5th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division.
A memorial ceremony for Staff Sgt. Todd W. Selge, and Spc. Jordan M. Shay will begin at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at the main post chapel. Selge, 25, of Burnsville, Minn., and Shay, 22, of Salisbury, Mass., died Sept. 3 in Baqubah, Iraq, of injuries sustained during a vehicle rollover. The soldiers were assigned to the 5th Battalion, 20th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division.
