The temperature dropped to 6 degrees in Olympia on Wednesday morning, setting a record low for Dec. 9, according to the National Weather Service. The previous record was 10 degrees in 1972.
Temperatures are expected to rise steadily in coming days. Today’s forecast calls for a high near 36 and a low around 22; Friday’s calls for a high near 30 and a low around 27; Saturday’s calls for a high near 36 and a low around 31; and Sunday’s calls for a high near 40 and a low around 35.
