The state Department of Ecology has scheduled a public meeting to discuss the next phase of cleanup at the Port of Olympia's Cascade Pole site, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Thursday at The Olympia Center, Room B, 222 Columbia St. N.W., Olympia.
The project includes removal of about 1,000 cubic yards of contaminated soil from the NorthPoint site next to KGY Radio. The soil will be moved to an adjacent, secured property, then capped and paved.
The estimated cost of the project is $1.2 million to $1.5 million. The public-comment period on the project runs through June 10.
