The main railroad between Seattle and Spokane is back open, following a derailment.
A BNSF freight train jackknifed on a side rail line early Wednesday, blocking the main tracks.
Railroad spokesman Gus Melonas says the tracks were reopened at 2:20 p.m.
Melonas says 17 empty cars derailed at 12:05 a.m. Wednesday as the train, bound for Seattle, was pulling out of a siding at Edwall. There were no injuries. The cars remained upright. Nothing hazardous spilled.
