The condition of an Olympia man who was critically injured in a crash near Nisqually over the weekend was upgraded to serious Sunday, according to a nursing supervisor at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
The driver of the other car, Charie Coulliette, 31, of Olympia, faces a charge of vehicular assault, according to Thurston County Corrections, where she is being held without bail.
According to the Washington State Patrol, around 2 a.m. Saturday, Coulliette’s 2000 Dodge Durango was eastbound on state Route 510 near between Meridian Street Southeast and 35th Avenue Southeast when her SUV crossed the center line and collided with a westbound 2000 Toyota Camry driven by Danny J. Morgan, 27.
Coulliette and Morgan’s four passengers were taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia for treatment of their injuries, according to the Washington State Patrol.
