Three people were injured Saturday night in a collision on the stretch of state Route 161 known as the Eatonville Cutoff Road.
According to the Washington State Patrol, a 1988 Ford Mustang traveling northbound on 161 crossed the center line and struck a 1991 Toyota Tercel that was headed southbound. The accident occurred just after 9 p.m.
The driver of the Tercel, a 76-year-old Eatonville man, and the two occupants of the Mustang – an 18-year-old man from Orting and an 18-year-old woman from Spanaway – were injured and taken to Good Samaritan Hospital.
All were wearing seat belts.
The Orting teen who was driving the Mustang is suspected of drunken driving and faces a DUI charge.
The State Patrol says the Mustang was totaled, and the Tercel sustained $4,000 in damage.
