Ongoing construction will close lanes on Interstate 5 between Martin Way and Mounts Road this week, according to the state Department of Transportation. The closures are planned:
• 7 p.m.-5 a.m. today through Thursday on southbound and northbound I-5. The northbound I-5 off-ramp to Marvin Road also will be closed.
• 9 p.m. Friday-7 a.m. Saturday, southbound I-5.
• 7 p.m. Friday-8 a.m. Saturday, northbound I-5.
Also, joint repair will close the right two lanes of southbound I-5 at Pacific Avenue, as well as the Sleater-Kinney Road on-ramp to southbound I-5, from 10 p.m.-5 a.m. today and Tuesday. The left two lanes of northbound I-5 at Capitol Boulevard will be closed from 10 p.m. Thursday until 5 a.m. Friday.
These projects also are expected to affect South Sound traffic in the coming week:
East Grays Harbor County: A mobile vegetation-maintenance operation is planned from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. today in both directions on U.S. Highway 12 between Montesano and Elma, as well as both directions of state Route 8 between Mud Bay Road and Elma.
Eatonville: Utility work will close a lane of state Route 161 in Eatonville from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m. today through Friday.
Elma: Brush trimming will close a lane of eastbound state Route 8, a mile east of the Elma Rest Area, from 7 a.m.-4:30 p.m. today and Tuesday.
